APTPUO By-Laws: Survey

The Association of Part-Time Professors of the University of Ottawa is seeking feedback on a set of draft bylaws, available here (Access to Survey).

The APTPUO Constitution, the union's main governing document, requires that nomination/election procedures and Board member responsibilities are set out in Bylaws and are adopted at a General Membership Meeting.

The APTPUO intends to propose adoption of these bylaws at the 2012 November General Membership Meeting.

This consultation process will end by 30 September, 2012. Please respond to the survey before this date.

You can send your comments or ask for more information via the contact form.

New enhancements to email and file storage service

A message from Computing and Communications Services:

Email Services

As part of our on-going efforts to provide improved email services to the University community, Computing and Communications Services has enhanced email service (email accessed using Outlook and Outlook Web Access) for University employees. These enhancements include:

  • Increased email storage: Email storage is increasing from 500MB to 8GB; a 1500% increase!
  • Increased attachment size: You will now be able to attach and send larger files with your emails. We've increased the capacity to 25 MB (up from 10 MB), similar to other email service providers, such as Google and Microsoft.
  • New email archive allocation: Before the start of the fall 2012 semester, we will deliver an additional 50 GB of online email archive space. Currently email archives are located on servers accessible only while on campus, the new upcoming email storage will allow you to save older emails to an online archive accessible at anytime and anywhere.

File Storage

  • Increased file storage: We have also made enhancements to file storage on the Active Directory. Users with access to the Active Directory will have an increased file storage to meet their workplace needs.

CCS is committed to delivering improved services which meet the needs of the community. These changes are part of our goal to enhance desk-side tools to increase employee productivity and modernize our IT environment. We will communicate additional details about email enhancements as they become available. For any questions or concerns about your email and file storage services, contact the Computing Help Centre.
